I went to Owl City concert last night!! a bunch of SASers and Concordia people were there and I got to see some pudong friends! It was actually closer to my house than I imagined.. but traffic stalled us so we got there in like an hour or so.

when we did finally get there, we had to wait another hour in line, because for some reason the stage wasn't set up.. and it gets worse after waiting for traffic and waiting in line, and finally got into the little basement/concert place, there was an "opening act" for like another 40 min. it.. well really sucked. the guy there sang songs he wrote while DJing. but the thing is, the volume was so loud that it hurt our ears beyond imagine, and he sang really really REALLY high pitched at one point, which further killed my ears.

after enduring that, owl city finally came!! everyone started yelling and screaming (lols). originally my friends and I thought it would be like Adam Young + DJ, but it turned out to be Adam Young who played guitar, sing, and DJ, his DJ, drummer, a cellist, violinist, and Breanne Duren (person who sang in saltwater room & on the wing). the songs they played actually sounded better than the recordings, not quality (of course), but the style they played it in. they added a few things and made the concert transition smoothly from one song to the next.

anyway, what i'm trying to say is the concert was awesome and i feel sorry for the people who didn't get a chance to go or didn't know about it. if you want i think they have a video of it on youku or something o.o dun think that's legal though.. but oh well, we're in china. i was really pooped after it. standing for 3 and a half hours isn't something i'd like to do constantly.
